A 20 foot ISO container was carefully removed from within an engineering unit after being installed inside the building for many years.

The container was jacked, skated and carefully moved using specialist tackle, labour support and the customer’s own forklift as the tow vehicle.

Sparrows Installation Services completed the removal of a 20 foot ISO container from inside an engineering unit in Cheltenham.

The container had been installed within the building many years earlier, but with the customer relocating, it needed to be carefully moved back outside without causing damage to the building, floor or surrounding equipment. The project was completed in one day using jacking, skating, labour support and the customer’s own forklift, which was assessed as suitable for the operation.

The Challenge

The customer was moving premises and needed a 20 foot ISO container removed from inside the building. As the container had been installed within the unit many years earlier, the removal required careful control to avoid damage while manoeuvring it back outside.

Our Approach

Sparrow Installation Services assessed the customer’s forklift and confirmed it was suitable to assist with the operation. The team then supplied a standard tackle van with jacks, skates and labour, allowing the container to be moved in a controlled manner while keeping the project cost-effective for the customer.

The Solution

Using the customer supplied forklift as the tow vehicle, the team jacked and skated the container through the building and out through the industrial doorway. This allowed the container to be removed safely while maintaining control throughout the move.

The 5 tonne ISO container was successfully removed from the building and moved outside in one day, allowing the customer to continue with their relocation plans.
