Sparrows Installation Services completed the removal of a chiller from an underground hospital car park, using jacks, skates, timber packing and specialist HIAB transport to navigate access restrictions before the unit was loaded for disposal and recycling.

The Challenge
The chiller had to be removed from an existing location in an underground car park. Access was restricted by kerbs, cables, temporary service ducting, disabled ramps and walkways, plus height restrictions.
Our Approach
Jack and skate the chiller over the obstacles and into the working radius of the HIAB.
The Solution
A two-person team with the use of jacks and skates and plenty of timber packers navigated over a few obstacles including kerbs, cables and temporary service ducting to get within radius of the HIAB. A specific HIAB was required to be able to gain access to the area due to existing disabled ramps and walkways encroaching onto the road where width and height was an issue.

The Result
Once in safe working radius of the HIAB, the unit was successfully lifted and loaded onto transport for disposal and recycling. The job was completed in 1 day.
